Dell PowerFlex
Dell PowerFlex is a software-defined storage system that builds a high-performance storage array out of standard Linux servers and PowerFlex software. It transforms data centers, and cloud deployments and allows organizations to address their major pain points: sprawl, performance, hardware lifecycles and cost.
- Sprawl: Managing complex environments from traditional data centers to hybrid multicloud is challenging and resource intensive. PowerFlex simplifies the management of large hybrid cloud environments and allows businesses to operate with simple flexibility. It allows you to scale up, scale down and redeploy assets as business needs dictate.
- Migration: Bring inflexible applications to the cloud efficiently and cost-effectively, and manage them the same as you would on-prem. Also, with PowerFlex, array migrations are a thing of the past. You simply bring in your new nodes and remove the retiring ones from the cluster. This allows you to improve your storage arrays at the rapid speed of CPU and storage media advancement.
- Performance: Organizations consolidate to shared storage to pool resources and increase performance. Project-based acquisition can eliminate these improvements, causing storage islands to form which create isolated pockets of performance and capacity. PowerFlex brings those assets under one umbrella, providing protection and aggregating performance.
- Cost: We see a common thread of customers' wasted resources from siloed environments and lack of high-level visibility. These islands squander resources and drive up the cost-to-serve. As an API-centric platform, PowerFlex offers impressive automation capabilities. With the introduction of erasure encoding, PowerFlex is now more efficient than ever. When combined with data reduction, a typical workload can see up to 140% space efficiency.
- Public Cloud Integration: With the introduction of Dell's APEX Block Storage offering, PowerFlex can be deployed locally, in the cloud or both. Workloads can be dynamically moved between on-premises and public cloud as business requirements dictate. Finally, PowerFlex in the cloud allows customers the freedom to move between multiple public clouds without fear of vendor lock-in.
In short, PowerFlex liberates your workloads from their traditional restraints.
